MakeShift Interactive Joins Forces with IPB: Our First Internship Program Begins!
At MakeShift Interactive, we believe that mentorship, education, and hands-on experience are key to shaping the future of game development. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve joined forces with the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (IPB) to launch our very first internship program! 🎉
🎮 Why This Matters
This partnership is more than just bringing interns on board—it’s about creating a bridge between academia and the industry. Aspiring game developers often struggle to gain real-world experience, and we want to change that. With IPB’s support, we’re opening the doors for students to contribute directly to the development of our game, Echoes, while learning valuable industry skills along the way.
👥 Meet Our First Interns!
After reviewing a fantastic pool of applicants, we’re excited to welcome our first group of talented students who will be assisting in various aspects of game development, production, and narrative design. These interns will be fully integrated into our remote-first studio, working alongside industry professionals and gaining firsthand experience in building a game from the ground up.
🛠️ What Our Interns Will Be Working On
Our interns will play an important role in bringing Echoes to life. Their responsibilities will include:
✔ Game Design & Prototyping – Helping shape mechanics & player experience
✔ Narrative & Worldbuilding – Crafting compelling stories & immersive lore
✔ 3D Art And Concept – Concept development, visual identity for the game
✔ Production & QA – Learning the ins and outs of game project management

While MakeShift Interactive is an international studio, our roots are in Portugal, and we believe in fostering local talent. This initiative is one of many steps toward strengthening the Portuguese gaming industry, giving students the opportunity to work on real projects, and preparing them for careers in the global gaming landscape.
